On behalf of Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo, H.E. Wilberforce Kitiezo – Deputy Governor Vihiga County today hosted a team from the Council of Governors-Kenya who are in the county to document key projects in the Fisheries Sector.
This is in line with a compendium that is being developed by the Council of Governors in conjunction with Maarifa Centre to document Climate Resilient Practices in Fisheries and Aquaculture in 13 Counties- Vihiga being top among them.
This initiative aligns with Governor Ottichilo’e strategic goal of promoting Sustainable Blue Economy practices and enhancing the role of Fisheries and Aquaculture in National Development.
The team was able to visit;-

Razaq Fish Farm Nadanya Fish Farm Omuruli’s Fish Farm
The team applauded the County Government of Vihiga under the leadership of H.E Governor Wilber Ottichilo’s Government for the initiative of establishing a resource training centre at Mwitoko Fish Farm. A move that will see residents easily access aquaculture training.
